Stag Beetle 04:35
living witnesses from militant eyes near the cliff I don’t remember all the places where I was, the faces I saw the world has always been more or less the same big fish eats small fish we are as we are, we are what we are self-esteem is an important issue the body, element to care about possible strategies to achieving the objective gasping, in search of fresh air stag beetle… desires are a world that does not exist impracticable demands little matters I just want to see what happens tomorrow stag beetle…
2.
repetitive, serial jobs far from god and light far from communication an unexpected sudden paradise molten gold on a desert of frustration stream of consciousness?... stiff muscles, ready to suddenly spring ready to yawn with a freshly groomed beard I laugh at the photos of the past to take stock of propitious moments pretending they'll never end squinching eyes to blur the skyline and render it unreal stiff muscles, ready to suddenly spring ready to yawn with a freshly groomed beard I laugh at the photos of the past
3.
ecstatic astonishment in front of which the word gives way gray backgrounds, core soul and small primitive acts of everyday cruelty migratory acts intercepted between the dense clouds above the daily insignificance and thoughtful swallowing pauses  the sky is no longer able to contain itself and is splattering purple distortion and dislocation in saturated technicolor
4.
small awakening from anesthesia painful lucidity it synthesizes and summarizes the crash and thud from inside out to play the hunting animal while trying to avoid the fate of the prey today, tomorrow, a constant

Review of "Demo '17" on Powerplay Magazine
powerplaymagazine.co.uk

Having never heard of the italian before, the announcement that he is returning to his original musical roots of metal rather than the transversal experimental song writing style he’s been employing for the last two decades didn’t really mean anything to me. A few minutes with the encyclopedia Google revealed that Daniele has sixteen previous releases available via his bandcamp page, and that the transversal experimental sound sways from death metal through to ambient electronics, with a dabble in industrial and harsh noise along the way. I also get the impression that there’s been a tendency for Italian lyrics in the past, which may go some way to explaining why such proficiency hasn’t appeared on my radar before. The four tracks on ‘Demo ’17’ don’t include death metal or ambient electronics, but do have an industrial aftertaste surrounding them, and as a bonus, they’re sang in English, so I’m delighted this gem has landed on my radar.
With these songs originating back in the late 80s and early 90s, there’s a lot of influences from that period shining through, Bay Area thrash being one of the strongest, but there’s also the mentality of song writing from that era holding strong-in so much as these tracks actually do something, rather than starting and stopping without really going anywhere, which a lot of more modern metal can fall foul of. There’s not a huge amount out there today that allows an easy comparison to explain what Daniele’s achieving with this new (or old) direction, but Ginger Wildheart’s Super$hit or the more accessible aspects of his Mutation project would be a good starting point. What is clear though is that fans of more complicated song writing will appreciate this release, as it’s full of twists and turns without losing the identity of the tracks.
‘Demo ’17’ gives four excellent insights into what Daniele can deliver, so I’m hoping it develops into a full-blown album before any temptation to deviate off back in to the transversal experimental song writing comes along.
